“You con,” she cursed at him in French. “What in the hell was that about?”
“I didn’t take you for a cheater. I was just looking out for Rocco.”
“Since when do you give a damn about Rocco?”
Letting his gaze travel down Natalia’s curvy figure, he felt his mouth go dry. “I’ve always been concerned about Rocco. If he weren’t your boyfriend, I would’ve fucked you when you came to the club the night you used Luc not being able to reach Arden as an excuse to get inside.”
Steam practically poured off the fiery Italian. Her gaze dropped pointedly toward his crotch. “I would have snapped that little carrot in two if you’d tried to touch me!”
His eyes narrowed. “It isn’t nice to insult a man’s penis size.”
“And you think the way you acted inside was nice to me?” she snapped.
“Nah, but I’m a mean motherfucker.” He shrugged. “There’s nothing nice about me. The way Arden brags about you, you’re practically Mother Teresa.”
“You’re not Arden!” she spat. “Where you’re concerned, there’s nothing nice about me.”
His gaze dropped to her heaving breasts. “I see two extremely nice things about you.”
Glaring at him, she turned toward her van, ending the conversation.
Wizard couldn’t allow that. The long hours she worked made it nearly impossible to run into her in town. How was he ever going to shoot his shot if he couldn’t get close enough to take it?
It wasn’t as if he had a death wish and planned to walk into her restaurant to do it. He hadn’t exaggerated the Yeti’s size to Natalia’s date. He wanted to fuck her, but he wasn’t willing to risk life and limb to accomplish his goal.
“If you’re looking to cheat on Rocco, I can make myself available anytime you want to sneak away.”
“Why don’t you go fuck yourself?” she snarled. “Not that it’s any of your business, but Rocco is my brother!”
Equal parts anger and joy filled him. Anger that Doom—Arden’s husband—hadn’t told him Rocco was Natalia’s brother, and joy that he no longer had to worry about Natalia being in an intimate relationship with a man he couldn’t beat the ever-loving shit out of.
Leaning an arm against the handlebar, he let her see exactly how much he wanted her. Then he took the shot he had been waiting for.
“Want to get a drink?”
Natalia looked at him as if he were unhinged. “I would rather rip off both my eyebrows than get a drink with you, even if I were dying of thirst.”
Wizard didn’t take the insult to heart. Nothing had ever come easily to him, especially something that looked as fine as the woman glaring at him as if she were deciding how best to dismember his body.
“Don’t dismiss my offer so quickly. I’ve quenched a lot of women’s thirst.” He smirked. “Miles would’ve just left you thirstier. I did you a favor.”
“The only favor I want from you is for you to throw yourself over the nearest cliff!”
Spinning on her fuck-me heels, she stormed toward her van as if she might catch a contagious disease if she continued talking to him.
Wizard laughed when she peeled away with a squeal of tires, prompting two oncoming drivers to honk at her.
Damn, he wanted that woman.
Feeling as if his jeans were cutting off the circulation to his cock, he stood to adjust himself. Glancing toward the café, he saw the barista staring at him through the glass.
Without a second thought, he tossed the coffee cup into a trash can and headed back inside.
He never refused an invitation.
