Caspian: The Not So Friendly Ghost

by Alecia J.

Caspian was thick, stretching me in a way that was almost too much but felt so damn good at the same time.

“You so fucking tight,” he said through clenched teeth, his expression suddenly changing. “You gave my pussy to somebody else?”

Of all the damn times for him to ask me that.

My thoughts immediately went to Yonas.

Despite being in a relationship with Yonas, he couldn’t hold a candle to Caspian when it came to looks, chemistry, definitely not sex, or even the sense of safety I felt with him. Yonas was a great provider. He was dependable, attentive, and the type of man who would make a phone call and have a problem handled before I could finish explaining it… but I had always felt safer in Caspian’s arms.

It didn’t make logical sense considering the life Caspian lived. His world had been far more dangerous than anything Yonas had ever exposed me to, yet when Caspian held me, I never worried about what could touch me. I knew without question that he would tear apart anything that tried. With Yonas, I felt protected because he had resources. With Caspian, I felt protected because he was Caspian. He was the resource, the muscle, the plan, and the consequence all wrapped into one man.

The connection between me and Caspian had never been something I could recreate with anybody else. Even when things between me and Yonas became physical, I kept a part of myself guarded, and I never allowed myself to pretend what we had was anything close to what Caspian and I shared.

Caspian’s sudden movement snapped me out of my thoughts, and my attention flew back to him.

“Lakelyn.” His voice dropped lower. “I asked you a fucking question. Was there somebody else?”

I gripped his shoulders, breathing hard as I finally admitted it. “There was one.”

His jaw tightened immediately, jealousy written all over his face.

“But he wasn’t you,” I rushed out. “Not even close.”

Caspian said nothing.

“Caspian, for six years I didn’t know where you were. I didn’t know if you were ever coming back. I had to try to live.”

“So you loved the nigga?”

“What? No. I cared about him, but I wasn’t connected to him the way I was connected to you. I never gave him all of me. We always used protection, I kept boundaries, and even when I tried to convince myself I was moving on, some part of me was still waiting for you. He was just safe… comfortable. He was also good to me,” I added, because if I was confessing, I might as well tell the truth. “But there had always been some invisible wall I couldn’t get past, a part of myself I kept tucked away because it still belonged to the man currently demanding answers at the absolute worst possible moment.”

Caspian held my gaze for a long second before his mouth brushed mine.

“So you tried to replace me with safe?”

I frowned. “Don’t start.”

“I’m asking. I’m not starting shit.” His hand tightened at my waist. “I been gone six years. Let me be in my feelings for five damn minutes.”

I chuckled. “But now I wasn’t trying to replace you; I tried to survive missing you.”

He pressed a kiss to my neck. “I know, baby.”

He pushed in deeper, and I felt every inch.

“Oh my God.”

“You good?”

I nodded. “Don’t stop.”

He didn’t.

Caspian pulled back, then pushed in again, setting a rhythm that had me clinging to him.

“Missed this pussy so much,” he said against my ear. “Missed everything about you.”

“She missed you too.”
