"A child, Robin."
"Yes."
"Ours."
I nodded.
"Ours."
He closed his eyes for a moment.
Then he stood and kissed me.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, feeling the happiness that still poured through our bond.
He kissed me until I had to place a hand against his chest.
"Careful," I murmured.
He immediately drew back.
"Are you uncomfortable?"
I stared at him.
"No, you ridiculous man. This gown takes a quarter of an hour to lace, and I'm not doing it twice."
He laughed.
Then his expression changed.
"You should sit down."
I narrowed my eyes.
"Excuse me?"
"You've been tired. You should rest before the feast."
"I'm perfectly well."
"And you shouldn't spend the entire evening standing."
"Guy."
"The courtyard steps were wet when I came in. I'll have someone dry them."
"Guy Bisbane."
He stopped.
"Yes?"
"I'm carrying a child. I haven't been struck by lightning."
His mouth twitched.
"I walked four miles yesterday. I intend to walk down my own staircase tonight, and if you start treating me like I'm made of glass, I'll put an arrow through your hat."
