“She gonna give you access?”
He laughed. “What you think? You’re paying to fix her shit. Not only is she giving us access, she added new shelves that I know for a fact didn’t exist before the fire.”
I smirked. “And you’re billing me for that without checking with me first?”
“The fuck I need to check with you for? You sent us over there giving her free rein to run up a tab and baby girl didn’t even know your name.”
He had a point. I was on a mission.
“You tell her?”
“Yeah, I told her.”
“What else she ask?” Was I really doing this high school shit? Yeah fool, you are.
“Not a gotdamn thing. She didn’t even ask for your name. It just came up when she was interrogating us to find out why we were there.”
“Aight, send me that invoice so I can get it paid and make sure you do a good job.”
“Don’t insult me, Kyron. You hit my line because you know the work we do is superior. Don’t make me mark that shit up another twenty percent. ’Cause I know the way you chasing pussy that’s not trying to be caught you’ll pay it.”
I threw my head back and laughed. He was right but I wouldn’t say that to him.
“You got that. Take care of my girl.”
I ended the call and watched my brother walking into the kitchen with my laptop. He placed it on the counter and lifted the top, overriding my password by holding his phone near it. His techy ass was a pro at hacking.
“What did you just use?”
He smirked. “An app I created to open just about anything password protected.”
“You need to be in somebody’s jail with all that hacking shit.”
“Just be glad you’re on the right side of things.” He smiled arrogantly then frowned at my screen. It wasn’t until that very moment I remembered the last thing I had been researching.
“Why are you looking up fire witches?”
“Why are you minding my business?”
“Because your business is connected to mine and Gade’s business. What’s up?”
“You don’t have a hack to figure it out?” I asked with a smirk.
“You’re blocking me right now, so no.”
Keeping him out of my thoughts was intentional. My brothers didn’t need to know Uri had me down bad for her.
“It’s nothing.” I brushed it off but he backed away from my laptop and leaned against the opposite counter, locking his arms over his chest, staring at me, waiting.
There was no way around this shit, apparently. He would eventually find out.
“She’s a fire witch.”
“Who?” His brows furrowed before an amused smile eased onto his face. “Ah shit, ol’ girl from the club?”
“Yeah.”
“You know that’s not going to end well, right? Just fuck her and get it out your system.”
