“Where is it at?” Mateo asks, lifting a brow. “Is there room for two?”

“If you like sleeping on the couch.” I lift a shoulder. “There’s one bedroom. It’s not glamorous, but the land is beautiful.”

“I don’t need glamorous,” he assures me. “If I’m going to stick around until everything is settled, I would rather not live in a hotel.”

“You’re welcome to it as long as Aria doesn’t mind. I can show it to you later. I need some time there with Savy.” I move around the counter and begin to clean the mess.

“Deal.”

“What deal?” Savy asks, and I glance up.

“Aria and I are bunking at Archer’s while he stays here.”

She showered and changed into faded jeans and a loose off-the-shoulder shirt. My soul bond is sexy in everything she wears. Her hair is braided again, and I itch to see it flowing free.

“Oh, yeah.” She grins. “You should ask Aria. You’ve lived together before, and she wanted to cut your hair off while you slept.”

“One time,” he hisses. “I apologized, and we’ve moved past it.”

“Are you sure?” She tilts her head.

“What have you heard?” He moves around the counter.

“Nothing. Chill.” She pats him on the shoulder. “Hey, Rome.”

“Savy. I heard the dream went well except for the talk of trouble,” he replies.

“Unfortunately, but I think we can handle it. Aria messaged. She got a new phone and is headed this way. No problems. I expect her tomorrow night,” she says brightly.

“So, she's moved past it?” Mateo leans close to her.

“We have to know this story,” Rome says.

“Later,” I say gruffly. “We have plans.”

“We do?” Savy moves toward me, leaving a disappointed Mateo.

“I want to take you to my place.”

“Can we ride the bike?” She stops next to me, pressing her palms together. “I wore pants and put my hair back just in case.” She smiles widely.

So eager. It makes me hard.

“Yes, we’ll ride.”

“Awesome,” she breathes, and I imagine her breathy voice as I touch her.

“What about calling Gran?” Mateo crosses his arms.

“It can wait,” she says.

“But you said—”

“I’m going on a date with Archer.” She glares at him.

Rome laughs, and I have the urge to join him. She's a ball of confidence, joy, and sass.

“Alright,” Mateo mutters, and glances at Rome. “Can I come to the store until they're done?”
