Nothing was going to happen. Because nothing could happen. I’d just doubled down on my commitment to the priesthood. Getting jerked off by my bully wasn’t part of that future path.

There was a knock on the door and I groaned. Caitlyn had just left. Had they run into each other? Did she say anything to him? Did I want to know if she had?

I opened the door and couldn’t hold back the smile when I saw Trevor standing there, a copy of Hamlet in his hand, a look like a deer in headlights in his eyes.

“Did my sister say anything to you?” I asked immediately.

“Just that she was staying at a friend’s place,” he answered with a shrug. “Can I come in?”

Staying away? Like…all night? And she’d fucking told him?

“I didn’t say anything to her,” I said as I stepped aside to let him in. “We don’t talk like that.”

“Okay,” he said, shrugging. “So, how do you want to do this?”

“Do what?” I asked, my voice a little breathier than I appreciated.

“Study,” he said, grinning. “Look, Andy—”

“I don’t think we should talk about anything but Hamlet,” I said quickly. “Please.”

“Whatever you say,” he agreed, setting his book on the table as he slid his coat off and dropped into a chair. “So, should I just read in silence and ask you about the words I don’t understand?”

“If you want,” I said. “I was going to read it, too.”

“I only have one copy,” he teased. “We’ll have to share.”

“I have my own,” I assured him, turning to head toward my room to retrieve it. I walked over to my bookshelf and grabbed it, then turned to find Trevor standing behind me. “What are you doing?”

“I wanted to see your room,” he said, turning to look around. “It’s nice.”

“It’s a bedroom,” I said.

“The bed looks comfortable.”

“Out!” I pointed toward the door and he chuckled as he stepped around me and dropped onto my bed, his book in his hand. “Trevor.”

“Andy,” he said, his tone mocking. “Come on. I’m not going to bite.”

I blew out a sigh and dropped to the floor, leaning with my back against the bed as I opened my book and started reading, pointedly ignoring him.

He copied my sigh then climbed down to sit next to me and for a blessed few minutes, we just read in silence together. But it soon became clear that Trevor had stopped reading, and I could feel his gaze on me.

“What?”

“We’re really not going to talk about the other day?”

Jesus fuck.

Sorry.

“I don’t think there’s anything to talk about,” I said, turning my gaze back to the book. “After everything you’ve done to me, I’m okay with being your little experiment as well.”

“Is that what you think it was for me?”

“Trevor, you went from trying to punch me to jerking me off,” I snapped, glaring over at him. “Yes, that’s exactly what I think it was for you.”

“Then what was it for you?” he challenged, narrowing his gaze at me.
