Stolen in Sin City

“Fuck, I can’t kiss you here.” I lifted my forehead from hers and looked at our surroundings.

This girl hadn’t been kissed by a man in years, and I sure as hell wasn’t going to make her first one be in a shitty dive bar.

Abandoning the pool table, I grabbed her by the hand, and in silence, we made our way back to our hotel room.

The heavy door closed with a thud behind us, and with my hand still locked with hers, I pinned her against it, dipping my lips against her ear.

“Do you still have that aching need burning through your veins to kiss me, Andi?” My heart pounded, waiting for her answer.

She’d had a few moments to rethink what she wanted, and as much as I craved her lips on mine, respectfully, I gave her the opportunity to back out.

“Like I’ve never felt before.” Her voice tickled my cheek.

Looking her in the eyes, I wanted to make sure she knew with everything in me that this kiss was more than a kiss to me. The idea of her giving into this urge, because of me, was so much more than she realized.

“I need you to know, this isn’t because of some silly little bet. I wanted your lips as a prize because I haven’t been able to stop thinking about them.” My thumb pulled on her lower lip. “What they would taste like. How they would feel pressed against mine. How lost I could get just by consuming your kiss.”

Her breath picked up as her heart practically beat through her chest.

“I haven’t been kissed in fuck knows how long. I can’t guarantee that it will be any good. But please, just put me out of my misery, and show me what I’ve been missing, Hunter.”

Leaving hardly a beat after the end of her sentence, my lips crashed against hers. Fulfilling her request and my deepest desire, I got lost in the feel of her lips against mine.

All of the tension she’d shown in the pool hall had completely washed away the moment my lips brushed hers. She melted into my kiss, giving herself over to me. Somehow, I was locked inside of a dream that I never wanted to wake up from where I was the lucky bastard that she chose to share this moment with.

How was it that at thirty-one years old, I was experiencing the feeling of a first kiss again when I’d already been there and done that? When I told Hunter it had been a while, I didn’t put a number on it, even though I knew it had been ten years since my one and only ex-boyfriend broke up with me.

Most people had this image of me being a hard-ass, confident girl that didn’t have a care in the world. Admitting that I hadn’t kissed anyone in ten years felt like I was baring myself naked for the entire world to see. That it was something I should be ashamed of. Like I was some born-again virgin or some bullshit.

Even after ten years, I didn’t remember a single kiss ever feeling the way this one was. The way my body involuntarily melted into his had me feeling like putty in his hands. Any moment now, I’d be a puddle at his feet with how weak my knees were.

As if Hunter could feel every bit of my reaction to him, he lifted me into his arms and pressed my back against the wall.

What started as a slow and sensual kiss, his mouth exploring mine, timid and asking for permission, took a turn filled with heat.

The deeper our kiss grew, the more desperate I became. With one of his palms spread across my ass, the other gripped my hair. Matching his energy, I fed my fingers through his blond locks, popping off his hat in the process. My hand filled with his hair, and I tugged him closer to me as if it were even possible.

When his moan vibrated against my tongue, I couldn’t help but answer back with a whimper of my own.

Yes. More. This is what I’ve been missing for so long.

Thoughts of me and him ran wild in my head. I could sit here and get lost in his kiss for hours.

With my limbs gripping around him, it wasn’t possible for us to become closer even if I tried.

I was lost in him. In this kiss. I was so far off the beaten path that it took me a moment to wrap my head around the fact that this wasn’t what I had been missing out on for the last ten years. Because what Hunter was making me feel right now wasn’t anywhere close to what anyone else had the potential to make me feel.

Hunter was responsible for making me feel things that I hadn’t felt in my entire adult life.

The spark that lit my insides on fire.

The craving to stay in this moment with him forever.

The feeling of complete and utter safety.

Just through a simple kiss.

Suddenly, my back wasn’t pressed against the door anymore, and before I could think twice, my body hit the shitty spring mattress with Hunter’s lips still pressed against mine.
