Levin looked at Xay.
Then at me.
Then back at his brother.
And smiled a little.
I didn’t know what the fuck that was about.
Didn’t care either.
I had food to eat.
HEATHER
I was pissed.
And not no, Oh, this is the hormones, pissed.
No.
I was pure, fiery, fury, pits-of-hell pissed.
Because this nigga Xavier had just walked his ass over to me, waited until the people around me moved, gave me a little half-ass hug and said, “Congratulations.”
Congratulations.
Then walked the fuck away.
Like I wasn’t shit.
Like I wasn’t carrying his fucking son.
Like I wasn’t standing in the middle of my own baby shower with egg all over my fucking face, taking pictures by myself, opening gifts by myself and smiling beside a big-ass sign with BABY COLLIN written across it while everybody assumed my baby daddy either wasn’t around or didn’t give a fuck.
Meanwhile, that nigga was ten fucking feet away playing good husband with my cousin.
Standing beside Samantha.
Touching Samantha.
Checking on Samantha.
Helping with their kids.
And I was supposed to smile.
I needed to get the fuck away from everybody before I exploded.
Mentally and bladder-wise because Collin had apparently decided my bladder was his personal fucking trampoline.
“I’ll be back,” I told Taty when she tried handing me another gift.
“You good?”
“I gotta pee.”
She laughed. “Again?”
