My phone vibrated.

Destiny: IM ON MY WAY!!!!! DID YOU CALL XAY???

I looked at Samantha.

Then Avery.

Then back at my phone.

Me: How tf am I supposed to do that with HIS WIFE WITH ME?????

Destiny responded almost immediately.

Destiny: oh fuck lol

I sucked my teeth.

Another message came through.

Destiny: I’ll call him. Don’t say shit. I’ll tell him baby coming.

I stared at it.

Then typed:

Me: Don’t tell him Sam and Avery here until AFTER you tell him.

Destiny: I got it. Stop texting and have my godbaby.

I locked my phone.

They got me upstairs, checked me, confirmed my water had definitely broken and hooked me up to monitors.

Apparently that meant absolutely fucking nothing to anybody except me because I felt like Collin should’ve been halfway out already.
