We walked past the front desk, and I noticed two women over by the treadmills looking my way.

One whispered something to the other.

I smiled.

Still had it.

Then I noticed two younger girls closer to Henry’s age looking at him.

One of them damn near turned completely around.

My smile disappeared.

Henry caught it.

“Nothing.”

He looked over.

Saw the girls.

Then looked back at me with a grin.

“Ahhh.”

“Ahhh what?”

“You saw them looking.”

“I ain’t see shit.”

“Yes, you did.”

“Get on the fucking court.”

He laughed all the way through the doors.

We got a court to ourselves and started shooting around.

Henry hit his first three.

Then another.

I grabbed the rebound.

“You been practicing.”
