“And that’s not me talking shit about his child. You know I don’t play like that.”
“I know.”
“But what about this one?”
I pointed toward Collin.
“What about when Collin needs his father?”
Destiny put the food down.
“Heather—”
“No. I’m serious.”
I started pacing.
“He told me to go relax. Told me take my shower. Said he got Collin. I’m upstairs thinking for once I don’t gotta rush because his father is downstairs with him.”
Destiny watched me.
“I come downstairs and the nigga gone.”
“That’s fucked up.”
“I’m tired.”
“I know.”
“No. I’m fucking tired, Destiny.”
She got quiet.
“I can’t keep doing this.”
She looked at me for a second.
Then sighed.
“Heather, I’ma ask you something, and don’t get mad.”
I already knew what the fuck she was about to say.
“What?”
“What if that nigga never planned on leaving Sam?”
I laughed.
But there wasn’t shit funny.
“We already had this conversation.”
“I know.”
“And I told you what he said.”
“I know what he said.”
