“What that got to do with Xay?”
“Everything.”

“I ain’t saying I’m getting on the pole next week. I got my appointment. I’m gonna heal. I’m gonna do what my doctor tells me.”

“But I’m getting back outside.”
She watched me.
“I’ve been sitting in this fucking house pregnant, waiting on Xavier to choose me.”
