“You sure?”
“Once I get Lev off my fucking back, I’ll be straight.”
Frozo laughed right in my face.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“Nah, what?”
“Xay, Levin ain’t even half your fucking problems.”
I looked at him.
This nigga smiled and walked away.
“Fuck you, Frozo.”
“Love you too, stupid.”
The thought made me sigh.
Seventeen.
Not twenty.
But it was a hell of a lot closer than the seven I had a couple weeks ago.
I was standing in the kitchen grabbing a bottle of water when my phone pinged.
Heather: You just wasn’t going to fucking come by to see your son today? You piece of shit.
I sighed.
Here we fucking go.
Before I could even decide if I wanted to answer her, another message came through.
Avery: When were you planning to get that 4k back to me?
I stared at that one.
Apparently Keith treating her good had her remembering every fucking dollar she’d ever handed my ass.
And somewhere in the middle of all this shit, I was supposed to be somebody husband, somebody father, go to work every day and act like I wasn’t holding my entire fucking life together with duct tape.
I locked my phone and headed upstairs.
House was quiet.
All four kids were asleep already, which surprised me because it was only ten.
Thank fucking God.
I pushed open my bedroom door.
It was dim inside.
