She walked away before I could fuck with her some more.

I chuckled and grabbed my drink.

Across the room, Avery was sitting beside Keith with Carter on her lap. Keith leaned over and said something in her ear that made her laugh.

Xay looked over.

Then right back at the TV.

Halloween popped into my head again.

I still ain’t know what the fuck that was about, but Xay looking at Avery’s nigga like he wanted to knock the glass out his hand definitely wasn’t helping his case.

“And there’s chairs everywhere. Figure it out.”

Everybody started making their way toward the food. Plates getting passed around. Kids arguing over who was sitting where. Henry pulling a chair out for Charlene like somebody raised his ass right. Nesha and Tyrell laughing about something while Tyler stood about six feet away pouring himself another drink.
