Xay.
I looked at his name.
Then at Samantha walking ahead of me.
“Who is it?” she asked.
I turned the screen off.
“Nobody.”
She kept walking.
The phone started ringing again.
Xay.
I declined it.

I was on a date with his wife.

SAMANTHA
It was a beautiful ass morning.
Cold as shit outside, but beautiful.
The sun was out, the sky was clear, and for once I didn’t have one of my damn kids attached to my hip.
I had dropped Zion, Amari and Michael off at school earlier. Serenity was with my parents for a few hours, and my ass was currently sitting underneath a dryer at the salon with a deep conditioner soaking through my hair while Nesha sat in the chair beside me getting her feet done.
“So you been fucking this nigga since Thanksgiving?”
I looked over at her.
“Yeah, bitch.”
Nesha’s whole face lit up.
“I am so fucking proud of you, bitch.”
I frowned.
“You proud of me for cheating on my husband?”
“I’m proud of you for getting your groove fucking back, Stella.”
I busted out laughing.
“Bitch.”
“What?” She shrugged. “If your husband ain’t gonna put it down the way you like, then fuck it.”
“That is terrible advice.”
