I told him.

Nigga looked at me like I was fucking stupid for a solid ten seconds, asked if Carter and Collin were really mine, then shook his head.

That was pretty much it.

Even at Henry’s little birthday gathering the other day, Levin hadn’t made shit weird.

Sam came because Henry was family and the kids wanted to see him.

She barely said two words to me.

Happy birthday to Henry.

Talked to Cheryl.

Talked to everybody else.

Me?

Nothing.

I tried pulling her to the side once.

She looked at me and said, “Not here, Xay.”

Then walked the fuck away.

What did irritate me was how comfortable she seemed around Levin.

Nothing crazy.

Nothing I could actually put my finger on.

But every time I looked up, they were somewhere near each other.

Sam was in the kitchen cutting cake, Levin was leaning against the counter talking to her.

Later, she was sitting with Serenity and Levin came over, took the baby from her like that shit was normal.

Sam handed Serenity right over without even looking up.

Then Levin said something in her ear that made her laugh.

That bothered me.

Not because I thought anything.

That was my brother.

But because my wife hadn’t smiled at me in five fucking days and this nigga said one thing and had her showing all thirty-two.

I mentioned it later.

Levin looked at me like I was crazy.

What the fuck you want me to do, make sure she miserable because you fucked up?

Couldn’t even argue with that.
