Then shook his head.

“You really ain’t learned shit.”

I frowned.

“What the fuck that’s supposed to mean?”

“Exactly what I said.”

“Man, fuck you too.”

He opened the door.

“Lock this shit behind me.”

“Yeah, yeah.”

The door shut.

I picked my phone back up.

Still nothing from Sam.

I called her.

Straight to voicemail.

“Fuck.”

I dropped my head against the couch.

She’d come around.

She had to.

Sam wasn’t throwing away nine years over some shit that was already done.

She loved me too much for that.

What I didn’t know was where the fuck my brother was going at eleven o’clock at night.

And honestly?

I didn’t give enough of a fuck to wonder.
