I watched the answer hit her.
She looked away from me.
“Jesus fucking Christ.”
“I wasn’t gonna lie to you.”
“You already did.”
“I never lied to you.”
Her head snapped back toward me.
“You let me fuck you without telling me I was part of some revenge plot against my husband. That’s a fucking lie, Levin.”
I couldn’t argue with that.
“You laid next to me, took me places.”
“I know.”
“Sat there listening to me tell you, how fucking stupid and unwanted that nigga made me feel.”
Her voice cracked just enough for me to hear it.
“And the whole time, you knew he helped put you in prison?”
“Yes.”
“How long?”
I didn’t answer fast enough.
Her eyes narrowed.
“How. Long.”
“Before Thanksgiving.”
She went completely still.
I watched her put it together.
“So you knew before we fucked.”
“Yes.”
“And you knew before I kissed you.”
“Yes.”
“And you still let me do it.”
“Yes.”
She laughed again and looked away.
“Wow.”
