Frozo didn’t say anything.
“I fucking know I fucked up.”
“Then stop making it worse.”
I dropped back onto the couch.
For a minute, neither one of us said anything.
Then I laughed bitterly.
“Levin knew.”
Frozo’s eyebrows pulled together.
“Knew what?”
I looked at him.
“About the case.”
Frozo went still.
That was different.
He knew exactly what I meant.
“How?”
“I don’t know.”
Frozo leaned back slowly.
“Fuck.”
“Yeah.”
“When you find out?”
“Same day I found out about Sam.”
“And what he say?”
“He ain’t say much.”
I rubbed my jaw.
“Just enough.”
Frozo looked uncomfortable now.
“Maybe you need to leave that shit alone.”
I laughed.
“Leave what alone?”
“All of it.”
