All of it.
Having Collin had taken me off the floor longer than I would’ve liked, but once my doctor cleared me and I felt like myself again, I got my ass right back to Freckles.
And baby—
Them niggas missed me too.
By the time I finished my last set, money was scattered all across the stage.
I smiled while gathering my shit.
Back in my element.
Back getting this bread.
And more importantly, back doing something that belonged to me.
Not Xay.
Not Collin.
Not my fucked-up family.
Me.
I scooped the last of my money up and headed toward the dressing room.
“Bitch!”
I looked over my shoulder.
Destiny was coming behind me.
“What?”
“You seen Carlos?”
I rolled my eyes.
“Girl.”
“What?” She laughed. “That nigga been sitting there waiting for you to finish for damn near an hour.”
“He need a hobby.”
“You are his hobby.”
I laughed as we walked into the dressing room.
“Shut up.”
I dropped my money onto the counter and started sorting it.
Life was finally starting to feel normal again.
Or whatever the fuck normal was supposed to look like now.
Collin was getting big as hell.
