“Here. Damn. Acting like Mommy don’t feed you.”
The second I sat down and put the bottle to her mouth, Carter latched onto it like she had been starving for three business days instead of maybe ten extra minutes.
I laughed.
“Greedy.”
I shifted her in the crook of my arm and pulled the blanket from underneath her.
Carter was so fucking gorgeous.
And funny enough, she looked just like me.
Thank God.
Big brown eyes. Little button nose. Pretty brown skin. Full little cheeks that made everybody want to kiss on her. She had a head full of dark curls already too, especially when I wet them.
If you didn’t know?
You wouldn’t know.
I wasn’t shit.
I knew that.
I had a whole baby by my sister’s husband.
There really wasn’t a cute way to dress that shit up.
But fuck.
Xay was fine.
Fine as fuck.
Caramel skin. Deep, dark chocolate-drop eyes that always looked like he was either about to laugh at you or fuck with you. Little scar cutting into his lip from when he fell into some glass when he was younger. He had a few tattoos scattered around, but not enough where you’d call him tatted.
And his body?
Nice.
Not gym-influencer nice.
Xay didn’t have no eight-pack and veins popping out his neck.
He was just built like a grown-ass man. Nice arms. Broad enough through his shoulders. Little stomach that came and went depending on whether he had been working a lot.
Sexy.
And the dick—
I smiled around my bottom lip.
Yeah.
The dick had definitely contributed to some poor decision-making.
Not all of it.
