Maybe this unexpected change will be a good thing.
Or the best thing.
Like H is proving to be.
“I wanna start every day beside you,” my boyfriend whispers next to my ear, lips tugging upward, “naked.”
“Okay.”
There’s a beat before an elated echo of agreement, “Okay.”
Meeting his gaze over my shoulder is followed by a wide mouth grin. “But in a bed, please. I would rather us not camp out every night.”
“Agreed.”
“Whether that’s your bed or my bed is totally allowed to be on the table for discussion.” I should pause for input but don’t due to nervousness. “Or no? Can you even have women sleep over? Are there rules against that? Is it like any chick that comes into the building is automatically shared or only allowed a day pass or only can be around for sex?” Scrunching my nose sends my glasses further down it. “The rules aren’t that flat out misogynistic, are they? Is this a whole you say jump and I’m supposed to say how high thing? And what about-”
Our lips become abruptly smashed together shushing me entirely.
Which I’m sure is the point.
And such a damn good way to make it.
Hogan gently parts our mouths wide and grants his tongue additional access in aiding my silencing. One roll leads to two and two leads to four and on the fifth my entire body thoughtlessly melts into his hold, previous spiral completely abandoned.
His pull back to speak is equally as subtle as his start was, “Your bed.”
My smitten stare struggles to settle back on him.
“I like your bed.”
A soft smile slides onto my face.
“I like your house.”
“It’s…cute?”
“It’s you.” He lets his nose gently brush mine. “And I really like you.”
“I like you too.”
Our mouths briefly meet again, and afterward, he adds, “And I like Noodle.”
“Noodle will learn to like you.” Snickers freely escape me. “He has some strong opinions about…everything that comes into the house. He’s very vocal about it.”
“I’m aware.”
“And his feelings will be heard.”
“So will mine.”
“Yes. I look forward to seeing who will out stubborn who.”
He cocks an arrogant grin. “You’re losing, aren’t you?”
“Like a thousand to one!”
“Impressive.”
