The Highland Fling

Leaning forward, I plant a kiss on the back of her neck, then I move my fingers yet again, trailing them down to where we’re joined. I explore the delicious wetness of her around my shaft then delicately brush her clit.

She gasps louder, tightening around me at the added stimulation. The tension in her builds with every thrust of my hips, every flick of my fingers against her most sensitive spot. She’s getting close, but . . . so am I. This was supposed to be for her—I wasn’t expecting to blow my load again so quickly. And yet . . .

Everything about this is perfect. It’s more than just the physical sensations. These last few months, between the video calls, the messages, and the time I spent with her in London, I’ve formed a strong bond with Grace. Expressing our deep emotional connection by coming together physically feels so . . . right.

I drive into her with greater urgency. The pace picks up, our breaths escaping in shallow puffs and gasps. There’s a frenzy now—a desperate need.

A loud moan tears from her lips. “Aidan!” There’s desperation in her voice. She’s on the brink, and just the knowledge of that sends a wave of exhilaration through me.

We don’t stop, our bodies moving together, perfectly synchronised in their rhythm, until she shudders and cries out. Even then, I keep going, as she trembles around me. The sensations and her groans push me over the edge. With a final deep thrust, I empty myself into her.

We pant, still connected, both of us trembling from our climaxes. With the last of my strength, I withdraw from her and collapse onto my back.

I lie on the bed, eyes closed, basking in serenity. The sheets rustle, then Grace rests her head on my chest. Her fingers trace lazy circles on my skin, sending little shivers of pleasure through me.

“I think that was the best sex I’ve ever had,” she murmurs. “No, I know it was. Wasn’t it great?”

I wrap my arms around her protectively. “Mmm, don’t take this the wrong way, but . . . could we not talk? You’ve just made me come twice in what could be a world-record time. I’m knackered—I need to sleep.”

“You’re joking, right? It’s not even that late.”

“Not joking.”

“But you’re supposed to be some Casanova!” She reaches down and gives my still-tingling cock a playful flick.

“Oh, Grace, that was the old me—a carefree twenty-something with energy and vitality. Now I’m a thirty-something dad who wants nothing more than to nap.”

“You only turned thirty a couple of months ago, and I don’t think you can call yourself a dad until the baby has been born.”

“Shh . . . I said no talking. Not until tomorrow.” I stroke my hand up and down her back, hoping the touch might satisfy her because I’m way too tired for words.

“You can’t stay the night! Your mum is expecting you at hers. You can’t worry her on Christmas Eve.”

I groan. “I’m too old to go around having sex in secret. It’d be so much easier if we told everyone we’re giving things a go. Then I could just say to Mum I’m crashing here.”

“Well, maybe we could tell people—tomorrow. But you’re not breaking the news to your mum by firing off a message because you’re too tired to walk home after sex.”

“Och, you’ve got a point, but I’m not sure I can move.”

“Look, you can’t sleep here overnight, but you can have a nap. I’m enjoying snuggling with you. If you want to sleep, sleep. I’ll wake you when you have to go. I won’t even comment on the fact you’re being a big baby because you’re not the one who’s pregnant and you don’t know what it means to be tired.”

“Except . . . you just did comment on that. But thanks anyway.”

I settle down for some shuteye, but a few moments later, she lifts away from me and gets to her feet.

“I thought we were going to snuggle?”

“We will. I just remembered your pyjamas are strewn across the living room. I’ll tidy them up before David and Johnny get back.”

“Ah . . . cheers.” Chuckling, I close my eyes again.

CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

GRACE

It’s a white Christmas, and in the light of morning, Bannock looks even more magical, the fallen snow sparkling under the cool winter sun. David and I, wrapped up against the cold, are heading across the old stone bridge, following the peals of the church bell.

Elspeth invited us to attend the Christmas service with her, Aidan, and Iona. I’ll be seeing the three of them later as well, for Christmas dinner. I reckon Elspeth is keen to spend as much time as possible with the woman carrying her granddaughter.
