“Come on.”
I put an arm around her shoulders.
“Let's go deal with your detention.”
“What about Randall?”
I glance toward the building where one fluorescent-pink teenage boy is desperately trying to cover the word CHEATER across his forehead.
“I think Randall has enough problems right now.”
Chapter Sixteen
The only good thing that's happened since Grimm disappeared is that I've managed to avoid Coach Williams for almost two whole weeks.
Not through skill.
Let's be clear.
I've been blessed by the scheduling gods.
The Academy's fall athletics schedule has Coach traveling with teams, supervising away games, and generally being somewhere that isn't near me.
It's been glorious.
But apparently my luck has run out. Because Halloween is coming. And the Royal Academy for Magical Advancement doesn't simply have a Halloween dance.
Of course not.
We have our The Royal Academy’s Annual All Hallows’ Festival & Masquerade.
There are decorations.
Food.
Music.
Games.
Magical displays.
Costumes.
A contest.
A student dance.
And approximately nine thousand opportunities for something to go horribly wrong.
Naturally, somebody needs to organize all of it.
Guess who got volunteered?
Yep.
Me.
Because apparently when someone says, “Aggie, would you mind helping with the Halloween Festival Committee?” what I hear is, Please ruin the next several weeks of your life.
