“Gee, thanks.”
“I mean it as a compliment,” he said, and the way his mouth curved made it clear he meant exactly that. “Most guys tap out after the first round.”
“I’m not most guys,” I grinned.
I rested my cheek against his chest, listening to the slow, heavy thud of his heartbeat under all that fur. Milo settled in on my other side, one massive arm draped loosely across both of us. The quiet stretched out comfortable instead of awkward, which wasn’t something I was used to after a hookup. Usually there was a clock running somewhere in the back of my head, counting down until it was time to get dressed and go home alone. This felt different. Slower. Like nobody was in a hurry to be anywhere else.
“So,” I said eventually, tracing a lazy line through the fur on Dale’s stomach, “do you two do this a lot? Picking up strays at the bathhouse?”
“First time,” Milo said again, echoing what he’d told me in the bath. “Honestly, I didn't think anyone would want to deal with both of us at once. Most guys get nervous so we split off and find our own fun.”
“I wasn’t nervous.”
“No,” Dale agreed, tipping my chin up with one blunt claw so I had to meet his eyes. “You walked right over like you owned the place. Caught us both completely off guard.”
“I have a reputation,” I said. “And a facade to maintain.”
Milo laughed, low and easy, and pressed a kiss to my shoulder. “We’d like to see you again. If you’re interested.”
I glanced between them, some leftover caution from earlier in the night trying to rear its head, that same voice that had warned me off Brandon practically screaming red flags before I’d even gotten in his truck. But this didn’t feel like that. This felt like something worth paying attention to.
“Depends,” I said. “You two actually keep your dorm room clean?”
Dale and Milo exchanged a look over the top of my head, and whatever passed between them made both of them start laughing again, deep and rumbling, shaking the whole bed.
“Spotless,” Milo promised. “Military corners, the whole deal.”
“We’ll see about that,” I said, but I was smiling, and for the first time all night, I wasn’t thinking about Brandon at all.
In fact, Brandon who?
