Swelling emotion threatened to spill from her lips as she begged for more. Deeper. Harder. Faster. He instinctively knew. The way he used his body to bring her to the edge, the way he made her arch and plead for more, was heaven. Wes handed over orgasm after orgasm. She lifted her mouth to his, taking what she needed to hold the feelings at bay and protect her heart.
He hiked her legs around his thighs, delivering wave after wave of euphoria, and rode deep until he clapped a hand over her mouth to stifle her screaming climax as he came with her. Pulsing and panting, they fell limp in each other’s arms, and she knew she’d never have enough of him either.
Chapter Twenty
It was still dark when Bailey’s eyes fluttered open as Wes slipped out from under the covers. The alarm clock read 3:00 a.m. Falling asleep together had been a risk. What if Matt had a nightmare or got sick? What if he had awakened in a new house and wanted to crawl into her bed? What if Wes hadn’t covered her mouth when she lost control and screamed out his name?
He rounded the bed and stopped beside her. “I didn’t mean to wake you.”
She propped herself up. Her body ached blissfully, instantly reminding her of how much Wes had demanded and given. She didn’t want him to leave, but she couldn’t risk creating a situation that would confuse Matt. “It’s okay.”
Should she thank Wes for leaving? Or pretend that sneaking around was normal? She had so much to say, yet she couldn’t find a single word.
“Go back to sleep, baby,” he said as if he understood her dilemma. Wes pressed a kiss to her forehead and lips and stroked her hair until she settled against her pillow. “See you in a few hours.”
She was falling for him. Falling in love? She’d been in love before, but it felt nothing like this. She couldn’t compare the two men. It wasn’t fair to either of them, or to her. But whatever this was, it was happening hard and fast. As the door shut, she fell back asleep, content and wonderfully exhausted.
Bailey awoke at a more reasonable hour and could already tell she was the last one up. Coffee scented the air. Voices drifted from the first floor. She pulled on pajama bottoms, shrugged into a sweatshirt, and found Wes and Matt on the couch in deep concentration, playing Minecraft.
“Morning, Bailey,” Wes said without looking away from the screen.
“Morning, Mom,” Matt mimicked. “We already had breakfast.”
“I heard that’s the rule. Breakfast before video games.” Wes jammed his thumbs on the controller. “Get it. Over there. Yeah. Good job, bud.”
“It’s the rule on the weekends,” Bailey clarified.
Wes’s jaw hinged. “Hey.” He playfully elbowed Matt. “You’re going to get me in trouble.”
“I thought it was the weekend.”
She laughed and headed for the kitchen, sing-songing, “You were played.”
Bailey reached the coffeepot, content to hear Wes and Matt panic over something that had escaped them. Their silly happiness made her cheeks hurt. She poured her coffee and doctored it as a cheer of success erupted in the living room.
Heavy footsteps carried down the hall before Wes joined her in the kitchen. With one hand on her waist, he set her mug on the counter and, before they could get caught, kissed her. “Missed waking up next to you.”
“Technically, you did.”
His rumpled hair and scruffy cheeks made him even more irresistible. “Missed doing it the second time. What are the chances that Matt takes midday naps?”
She blushed. “Few and far between.”
He peppered kisses along her jaw until he reached the sensitive spot under her earlobe that sent Bailey into orbit. “Then I can’t wait until bedtime.”
“Hey,” Matt called from the living room. “There’s a big truck outside.”
She and Wes jumped apart as if Matt had walked in on them instead of yelling from the front of the house.
“You’re a little jumpy,” Wes teased.
“You jumped first.”
He planted a kiss on her mouth, melting her against him. The doorbell chimed. Wes turned her around and led her out of the kitchen, keeping his hands on her waist until they stepped into the hall. Bailey paused, taking in Matt pressed against the window.
“What’s in the big truck?” Matt asked.
“Boxes from my office. Some toys and things from home.”
