Hawk burst out laughing. “Okay, you’re right. I guess I covered the most important part.” His eyes darkened. “As long as you’re satisfied, little wolf.”
Jasper licked his lips. If he’d thought he was horny when they were giving him the drugs, he’d been mistaken. With Hawk’s naked flesh next to his own, his mate’s heat and the musk of their coupling filling the small space of the tent—he’d clearly never understood true ache and need until now.
“Yeah, very satisfied. But maybe we should make extra sure. You know, to be on the safe side.”
Hawk descended on his mouth, favoring him with a languid kiss and, as everything else fell away, they rode another wave to ecstasy.
* * * *
Jasper tried not to wiggle too much in the seat of the truck, leaning mostly on one hip then the other as Hawk seemed to hit every pothole and bump in the would-be backroad they were traveling on. He probably shouldn’t have insisted on going at it with Hawk again, or maybe they could’ve jacked each other off instead, but the need to have his mate inside him had turned him into a crazy person. He’s always assumed he’d be shyer when he finally had his cherry popped, but he’d been like some sort of wild, wanton thing.
Hawk didn’t seem to mind.
Once the fever had passed, Hawk had gone into overdrive to get them packed up and away from the campsite. He’d also finally allowed Jasper to help instead of treating him as though he were a glass doll. While Hawk had done the heavy lifting, Jasper had covered any traces of their presence.
Wish we could’ve had a shower.
The icy water from a nearby creek they’d toweled off with hadn’t been the most pleasant of experiences. But at least it had served the purpose of shriveling up his nut sac to the point where any more thoughts of sex had been eradicated.
“I might have to stop in the next town for gas.” Hawk had one hand on the wheel and the other resting on the gear shift. They’d already hit a couple spots where he’d needed to use the all-wheel drive to get through. “Maybe we should replace the lube, too.” Hawk’s grin could only be described as wicked.
“The truck needs an oil change? Won’t that draw too much attention?”
Hawk snort-laughed. “Uh, no. That’s not even close to what I was talking about.”
Jasper ran Hawk’s words through his mind. “Oh!” He chuckled. “Yeah, if they have a convenience store at the station.” He shrugged. “But it’s not as if we really need it.”
“Two times doesn’t make you a champ.” Hawk was still grinning. “Except in my eyes. But seriously, we need to use it every time, so you don’t get hurt.”
I’m so confused. “The spit seemed fine, and I’ve never, well, never done anything before.”
“Spit…?” Hawk’s smile disappeared. “Didn’t you prep yourself ahead of time, use the packet of lube I had in my kit?”
Jasper angled his body to gape at Hawk. “What? No way. When would I have even had the chance to do that?”
Hawk grasped the wheel with both hands, his knuckles whitening. “I thought…I dunno…thought maybe you needed to take a piss and you went out and…” Hawk cleared his throat. “You were very ready for me. Not spit ready—but prepped-really-well-ahead-of-time ready.”
Jasper’s heart thumped and his blood seemed to drain from his body. Something’s wrong with me. They ruined me with one of their experiments, with the operation.
“I’m a virgin, Hawk, I swear. I’d tell you if anyone had touched me that way, I’ll always be honest with you.”
Hawk grasped his hand and gave it a hearty squeeze. “Hey, it’s all right, baby. I know you’re telling the truth.”
Sweat beaded on Jasper’s upper lip and he felt as if he couldn’t catch his breath. The itch under his skin that couldn’t be scratched, the burn in his core that could only be soothed by Hawk began to form again and he thought he might be going mad. He was so sore—raw even—he couldn’t possibly be ready for…
Oh gods, what’s happening?
“Hawk, I-I think we should pull over.”
“Are you going to be sick?”
“It’s nothing like that. Just please stop!”
Hawk hit the brakes, the need to get out of the way of traffic nonexistent, since they were likely the only vehicle for miles around. He put the truck in park then angled his body to face Jasper. He grabbed Jasper’s chin and encouraged him to meet his gaze.
“Talk to me. The smell of fear is rolling off you and I won’t have my mate suffering if I can help.”
Jasper fought to remain calm. “Uh, I’m wet. Almost as if I’d prepped myself, like you said. I can feel it, it’s… oh gods, that’s not normal!”
