Fuck, no, bad thoughts…
I sigh as the man shoves her back making her laugh and he gives me a wink before exiting the trailer before El even looks my way. She is too busy rearranging her bra as she giggles, “I’ll be right with you,” and I say, “Take your time, it isn’t like I have a strip club to go run or anything,” and she freezes, her smile disappearing.
“Hey b-baby,” she mutters, putting on her innocence, and Halsy coughs to cover her snort.
“You called, again?” I say, instead of touching whatever the fuck she keeps doing.
She swallows hard, “I uh, wanted to know if my cut has arrived, the club still won’t let me in.”
Fucking shocker.
I shake my head and snap, “What have I told you about calling me about shit like this when I’m on club business?” feeling frustrated that I lost an extra hour watching Blair.
Stalker, the devil on my shoulder whispers, but I ignore the fucker and glare at El, who is trying to put on fake tears.
Shaking my head, I state, “The cut hasn’t arrived, and honestly, El, I wish I hadn’t fucking said anything until it did because you’re pissing me off! Old ladies don’t get to know a brother's whereabouts twenty-four fucking seven, they don’t pester their old men!” Shaking my head, I turn and mutter, “Fuck this shit,” and walk out of the trailer, my anger rising and not because she just fucked someone else, but because of what Halsy said, what El is willing to do to me, someone she’s known most of her life, to my club for extra cash.
El gasps and follows me just as another man walks up the broken path, already undoing his jeans, and he grins, “I’ll meet you inside, babe,” as he walks past me, making her pause, looking at the man and fuck me, she really does love this life.
“Blaze?!” she calls, but I ignore her as I climb on my Harley, start her up, and ride away from the drive, feeling like a fucking idiot that I even decided to claim her.
She’s just like my mother, loving the dark side of the trailer life. Halsy is right, she will turn traitor.
Speeding down the road, ignoring my mom's trailer, which I still need to empty, I head towards Farm Groove Road instead of the strip club because I know I won’t see her for three days after tonight, with the club run coming up.
I’m so fucking screwed.
Chapter 10
Blair
Snow whines near the door, and I swallow hard as I hear the roar of a motorcycle coming closer, and my white husky wags her tail while my stomach tightens.
Three weeks, he’s sat outside whether it’s been Mama’s or here. The past week, while I’ve been at Norman’s, he’s stood for a few hours up against the wall opposite the building. He never makes conversation, just looks at me with that intensity that scares me because I know not only is he taken, but he has the opportunity to destroy me.
I’ve never felt like this with someone before. I always kept my head down, never had the urge to even look at another male, my fear always at the forefront, yet with Blaze…
He’s pulling me in without even realizing it, and the fact that he’s basically stalking me should shy me away from him. All it’s doing is pulling me closer, which is stupid on so many levels.
The revving of the bike stop, and I take a deep breath.
I’ve got two options here, I could turn off the lights and go to bed as I had planned, despite only being back from work for half an hour, or I could go outside and confront him because he does have a girlfriend.
I look at Snow before swallowing hard, and I command, “Bed Snow,” and she looks at me and whines, but I lift my arm and she literally sulks as she walks slowly over to her crate under the stairs. Norman helped me build it when I bought this place. She curls up while glaring at me with her blue eyes which in turn makes me roll mine.
I swear that dog has more emotions than I do.
I look at the door again, adamant to go upstairs, but my feet have other idea. Instead of walking towards the stairs, I walk towards the front door, and before I can stop myself, I open it and walk out to find Blaze leaning against his bike, his arms crossed over his chest, his legs crossed, and his eyes solely on me.
Crap.
My whole body lights up, but I try to ignore the feeling and walk over to him, and he tilts his head, a small smile playing on his lips.
“This is becoming quite stalkerish,” I say quietly, and his smile turns into a smirk, and I mention, “Mama’s, while I was there, my home, my work, even the hospital, and the cemetery…”
He cuts in, “The cemetery was a coincidence,” not denying my words, while humor laces his voice as his eyes take in my tired face.
“The bruise is finally gone,” he mentions, and I nod and confirm, “Mhmm, I’m good, so you don’t need to keep an eye on me.”
