“No, I need to push it.” When I give him a questioning look, he explains, “I need it to hide my hard-on, thanks to you.”

I laugh again and move forward to pick out some peppers for my gumbo recipe. Ansel grabs the onions. When I return to the cart with the peppers, I set them inside, and Ansel shakes his head at me.

“What?” I give him an innocent look.

“You know exactly what. Your words are running in a loop in my head now, and it’s making it very uncomfortable to walk around.” He discreetly adjusts himself. “Carrie.” Ansel looks over my shoulder with a surprised expression. “Good to see you.”

I turn to see who he’s looking at and find Russo’s wife standing in front of the potatoes. Her dark eyes take us in.

“Hey, you two. Just doing some grocery shopping?” Her head tilts.

I can tell she’s trying to figure out what this is, if it’s really what she thinks it is. Rather than play coy, I decide to be upfront. “I’m going to make Ansel some gumbo tonight.”

She smiles at us, but it’s forced. That I can see. I’ve been around Carrie enough over the years through the firehouse to see that. “Oh, sounds yummy.”

“I’ll be the judge of that.” Ansel rubs his six-pack.

Carrie and I let out a bit of an awkward laugh.

“Well, I’ll let you guys get to it.” She smiles again and pushes her cart away.

“Awkward,” I whisper under my breath.

Ansel wraps his arm around my shoulder and pushes the cart forward. “First of many interactions like that, I’m sure.”

“I know. I just wish we could get them all over and done with at once.”

He hip-checks me. “Want me to put an ad out in the local paper? One and done. Everyone will be talking about it.”

I chuckle and shake my head. “I think we’re good to let the old-fashioned way do the work.” He tilts his head, so I say, “The gossip mill.”

He laughs, and when I look over my shoulder, I spot Carrie watching us with her phone out. I hook my arm through Ansel’s and turn back around. Whatever.

“So tell me how horny you are again,” Ansel says as we pull into my driveway. “I want to hear more about that.”

“I’ll bet you do.” I’m playing coy, but the truth is that I was lusting after this man the entire time at the grocery store and the drive home, and I have plans for as soon as we walk through my door.

I get out of the car and walk up the steps to the front door while Ansel grabs the three grocery bags in his back seat. The door is unlocked by the time he joins me, and I push it open. He motions with his head for me to go first and follows behind, setting the grocery bags on the floor so he can remove his shoes.

Before he can, I shut the door and back Ansel up against the wall, my hands going to his belt. He doesn’t fight me. No, his hands are pressed to the wall behind him, and he looks down at me with that damn hat still on backward.

Shaking my head, I look straight ahead to where I have his belt open and start working the button on his jeans.

“What’re you shaking your head for?”

“You and that damn backward hat. It’s like catnip or something.”

He lets out a deep chuckle as I get the button undone and slide his zipper down, then he sets the hat backward on my head. “Don’t want to drive you too crazy.”

He winks, and I slide the elastic of his boxer briefs over his already engorged cock, then shimmy down his underwear and jeans until they reach his calves. I lean in, gripping his thick base, and run my tongue up the vein on the underside of his shaft.

The back of Ansel’s head thuds against the wall.

My tongue traces a path around his crown, and I taste the saltiness of his precum. I suck a few times on the tip while I stroke his hard length. When I look up, Ansel is watching me intently, so I lean forward and push him into my mouth until the tip of him hits the back of my throat.

“You look so perfect with your lips wrapped around my cock like this.” He strokes the side of my face the way you might stroke a cat, and I eat it up, moaning around his girth. “On your knees, stuffed full of my cock.”

The space between my thighs buzzes, demanding attention, but I ignore it.
