“Same.”

“When should I expect you?”

“Since I left early, probably four or five.”

“If you get tired, stop somewhere.”

“I will.”

We fall silent. I prop my heels on the counter and wrap my arm around my knees.

“I won’t let Griffon or anyone hurt you,” I whisper.

“I know. I’m a big girl now. I have power, control, and a protective instinct for my sister. Anyone who fucks with you will regret it,” she hisses.

“My badass sister,” I hum.

“Damn right,” she says. “Go snuggle with your hot bond, and I’ll be there as soon as I can.”

“Alright. Love you.”

“I love you to bits. Later, Sis.”

Relieved, happy, and a little nauseous from my early morning snack, I clean up my mess. I drink the rest of my water and wander back to the bedroom. Archer hasn’t moved and is breathing deeply. Taking off my shirt, I lift the covers, crawl onto the bed, and ease close to his side. I don’t care if I don’t sleep as long as I can be in his presence. Propping my head on my palm, I stare at him, grateful that the universe sent me to him.

His mom is right; I will heal him.

The best part of doing that is that Archer will be my family forever.

I fell asleep, shocking, yes, but it shouldn’t be since everything has changed since Archer entered my life. When I woke up to an empty bed, I put my shirt back on and brushed my teeth.

Now, standing in my bedroom doorway, I tilt my head and press my hand to my heart. He’s making breakfast without a shirt. I guess we're even since I’m not wearing pants. I like to be comfortable at home, and hardly ever have guests. I figure I can walk around in as few clothes as I want.

“Are you just going to stand there staring?” he asks.

“Yes.” I lift my chin, smiling.

“Alright,” he drawls, lifting a brow. “When you’re done, I want a kiss.”

“Well, when you put it that way.” I skip toward the kitchen, and he shakes his head. “Can I help?” I ask, stopping beside him.

“Nope.” He grabs my waist and lifts me onto the counter.

“Oh…” I flutter my hand in front of my face. “Okay.” I bite my lip and stare at his strong arms.

“Wild One,” he says, laughing.

“Mmm…” I focus on his face.

“Kiss,” he commands, gripping the counter on either side of my hips.

I tilt my head. “Yes, babe.” I lean forward, and he meets me halfway.

I’ll never get tired of this. He kisses me gently and thoroughly, then pulls away slowly.

“Morning,” he says gruffly.

“How did you sleep?” I ask, and he steps back.
