I jump.
“Jesus!”
Wulfy stands in the hallway. Coach Williams has somehow already gone. At least, I think he has. I glance down the hall.
Empty.
“What are you doing here?”
“I work here.”
“Right. Principal. Forgot.”
His mouth twitches.
“Everything okay?”
“Peachy.”
“Aggie.”
“What?”
He studies me for a moment. It's that principal look.
I hate that look.
It makes me feel seventeen and guilty despite the fact that I haven't done anything. Recently.
“Nothing.”
“Hmm.”
“Don't hmm me.”
“I'm not.”
“You literally just did.”
His mouth twitches again. Then he looks toward the meeting room.
“The Festival plans going well?”
“If by well you mean I've learned screaming trees are prohibited and magical bobbing for apples apparently resulted in litigation, then yes. Swimmingly.”
Wulfy laughs.
“Good.”
He starts to leave. Then stops.
“Oh. One thing.”
“What?”
“The Festival falls on the full moon this year.”
I stare at him.
