His expression goes strangely serious.
“You know how things can get on full moons.”
I wait. He waits.
“What things?”
“Things.”
I narrow my eyes.
“Wulfy.”
“Magic is stronger.”
“I teach Alchemy. I'm aware.”
“Shifters are more... reactive.”
“Also aware.”
“And sometimes things happen.”
I stare at him.
“Are you high?”
He laughs.
“I'm serious.”
“So am I. Because you just walked in here to warn me that things happen on full moons.”
“Just keep an open mind.”
“About what?”
He gives me that maddeningly knowing look. The same one he and Dora have been exchanging for two freaking weeks. I point at him.
“No. Absolutely not. You don't get to do that.”
“Do what?”
“That mysterious face.”
“I don't have a mysterious face.”
“You absolutely have a mysterious face.”
“Aggie—”
“Tell me what you know.”
His expression softens. And for half a second, I think he might. Instead, he squeezes my shoulder.
“Be patient.”
