Her hand moved slowly down his bare chest, then disappeared beneath the sheets.
Mac sucked in a breath. “You planning to let me wake up first?”
“Nope.” Her hand wrapped around his hardening cock. “Feels like you’re awake already.”
He chuckled and brought his hand to the back of her neck, pulling her to him for a kiss.
Jodie made a pleased sound against his mouth, then she shifted over him until she straddled his hips. She was naked, warm from sleep, her hair tangled around her shoulders.
I could get so used to this.
They’d been back from Sand Wash for over a month, and when Mac wasn’t doing an overnight assignment, she’d spent half of those nights at his place. He’d spent the other half at hers. There was no formal discussion; they’d just kept finding reasons not to go home alone.
Last night, Jodie had followed him to his house. She took one look in the refrigerator, announced that it contained nothing worth eating, and ordered Thai takeout. They ate it on the couch while they watched old reruns of Nineties sitcoms. There was nothing special about the evening, except everything. Jodie was there laughing beside him, his arm draped around her shoulders. The outside world was a dangerous place, but right here they were in a bubble of safety, watching a predictable show from when they were kids, not wanting to be anywhere else in the world.
At some point during the month, her toothbrush had appeared beside his in the bathroom and stayed there. By sheer coincidence, one of his now lived in her bathroom.
And this morning, he was enjoying her lips against his, her hand lightly stroking him to full attention. Jodie rocked against him.
His hands closed around her hips. “Baby,” he said against her mouth.
“Yes?”
“You keep doing that, we’re going to be late for work.”
“That’s kind of the idea.”
Mac laughed against her mouth. “You’ve never been late to work a day in your life, have you?”
She sighed. “Guilty. But,” she squeezed his cock just right and he groaned, “you, my friend, are worth the tardy slip.” Jodie kissed him again, slower now, her tongue sliding against his as her hips and her hand moved until he was in serious danger of coming too soon.
He rolled them. Jodie laughed as she landed on her back, then caught his shoulders when he settled between her thighs.
“That’s cheating.” She pretended to pout.
“Sorry.”
“You’re not sorry.”
“No, I guess I’m not.” Mac kissed his way down her throat to between her breasts. “Mmm. Yeah, no, definitely not.”
She giggled. “Definitely not at all.”
Her laugh turned into a gasp when his mouth closed over her nipple. That was even better than a giggle.
He took his time. Jodie’s fingers slid into his hair while he moved between her breasts, kissing, licking, learning again what made her breath catch. He already knew more than he had a week ago. That pleased him far more than it probably should have.
“Mac?”
“Yeah?”
“What do you need?”
“You, happy.” He flicked her nipple with his tongue.
“No, what do you need?”
“I just told you.”
