Destiny looked at Xavier again.

Then back at me.

“You sure?”

“Yeah.”

I rubbed my stomach.

“My cousin’s husband just bothering me, as always.”

Xavier looked at me.

I looked right back.

Destiny already knew exactly what the fuck Xavier was to me. She knew we’d been fucking around for damn near three years. Knew Collin was his. Knew about every promise he made me about leaving Samantha too.

Xavier just didn’t know she knew.

So I wasn’t about to expose my own fucking confidant standing right in front of him.

Destiny played along, giving him a little look.

“Mhm.”

He scratched his beard.

“Aight.”

Then he looked at me.

“We’ll talk later.”

“No the fuck we won’t.”

He stared at me another second before turning and walking back toward the party.

Destiny waited until he was completely gone before turning to me.

“Girl.”

I sucked my teeth. “What?”

“You need to stop fucking with this nigga.”

I scoffed.

“Here you go.”

“No, here you go. At your own baby shower arguing in the hallway with this nigga while his wife is sitting right out there.”

“I know where Samantha is, Destiny.”

“Clearly that ain’t stopping neither one of y’all.”
