He bends his head and touches his lips to hers. It’s brief. Barely a brush of his mouth on hers before he steps out of her space.
She opens those always wide eyes and presses her fingertips to her lips. The color in her cheeks flood her whole face, continuing down her neck.
“Since that was Lennon’s go, it’s my turn again.” Sonatina jumps up to get the bottle as Lennon rushes out of the middle.
Riot scoops the bottle up. “Think it’s my turn, actually.”
“Fine.” She plants her hands on her hips and glares at me. Probably because she’s figured out we both have a fifty-fifty chance of the bottle landing on either of us.
He puts the bottle back on the floor. Our gazes lock. He mouths three words as though they’re a spell that will guarantee the bottle points the way he wants.
Those same three words are whispered from behind me. And mimed at me from the other couch. Oowee chula chula.
God, that was an incredible evening. Life changing. But the words don’t really mean anything. Only the events of that night do.
My ribs catch. If the bottle lands on her...
If the bottle lands on me...
I press my lips together and hold my breath as Riot sends the bottle into motion. It spins fast and then slows down. The cap points to her. It points to me. Her. Me. Before it eventually comes to a stop.
“No.” Sonatina scowls.
I unfold myself from Bronx’s lap. It’s not going to be much of a kiss. Not in front of her. Not when Riot and I aren’t really even speaking to each other.
His fingers snake around my wrist and tug me down until I sit on his knee. His gray eyes drink me in. His other hand comes up to rest on my collarbone.
My pulse is erratic, my lips are suddenly parched, and my mouth is too wet.
“Riot.” Sonatina’s demanding voice gets louder. “Don’t you dare kiss that slut.”
We both ignore her.
His hand slides from my collarbone to my throat. His thumb rolls over my bottom lip. It’s history, temptation, and filthy promises all in one move. Fuck, he has such a hold on me.
He captures my mouth. There’s no softness... nothing chaste... in the way his tongue sweeps inside to own me. He’s commanding... drugging...
And I am an addict. I twist in his lap to seek more of his mouth, and he picks me up and makes me straddle him.
“Get off him, Slut.” My hair is grabbed from behind and I am dragged off Riot’s lap.
My ass hits the floor. Shock reverberates up my spine. That’s fucking it. My hands tighten into fists.
All the guys blink like they’ve been in a trance. Were they all watching Riot and me? Was it as explosive to see as it felt?
“Get away from her.” Riot’s the first one to his feet. He reaches down to help me up. Draws me behind him.
Kodiak and Bronx rise to flank him. The three of them become my shield.
Or maybe that’s Sonatina’s shield since I am ready to kick that bitch’s ass. I undo one of my dangly skull earrings and start on the other. “You and me, Sonatina. It’s time I kicked your ass.”
Bronx and Kodiak move closer together when Riot grabs Sonatina by both arms.
“Let me at her.” I toss my earrings at my bag on the floor and rearrange my brass knuckles from one ring to one on each finger.
Kodiak grabs me around the waist when I try to charge around him. He lifts me off my feet as I lash out. “Scary Girl, you gotta settle down.”
Riot pushes Sonatina across the room toward the door. “You need to leave.”
